Curriculum Vitae

He has an Undergraduate Degree and Master's Degree from the Faculty of Law in Lisbon (FLL). He is a guest Professor at the Faculty of Law at the New University of Lisbon (FLNUL). In February 2013, the reading and defense of his doctorate thesis on "A categoria da punibilidade na teoria do crime" took place at the FLNUL.

 

He is a member of the Center of Research and Development on Law and Society at the FLNUL.

 

He has taught in several Portuguese Universities. He is currently responsible for the subjects of Criminal Procedural Law (1st Course), Economic Criminal Law and Special Criminal Procedural Law (2nd Course) at the FLNUL. He regularly collaborates in Economic and European Criminal Law Courses (FLUC, Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra), Special Criminal Law (Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon). He participates in training courses for judges and prosecutors in the Judicial Studies Center (JSC) of Lisbon.

 

He has participated in different Congresses and Workshops on Criminal and Procedural Law.

 

He is an advisor for the Directive Council of the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), and the previous Director of Divisâo de Contencioso from the same institution. 

 

He is the author of different articles and publications.

 

Areas of interest and research are: Criminal Law, Criminal Procedural Law, Economic Criminal Law, History and Philosophy, Criminal Politics, and Administrative Law Penalties (administrative offenses).
