Curriculum Vitae

Professor of Criminal and Civil Procedural Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso (Chile) and in the Faculty of Law of the University of Chile. Bachelor's Degree in Legal Sciences from the University of Valparaíso (Chile) and Doctor in Law at the Pompeu Fabra University (Spain). Ex-fellowship holder of the Ibero American Cooperation Institute (ICI) at the Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona University (Spain). Guest lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Univeristy of Rome (Italy). He has been an internship researcher at Universities of Germany (the Humboldt of Berlin), Spain (Autonomous of Madrid) and Italy (Milan). He is a permanent researcher for the Fondecyt de Conicyt (Chile) programme. And a permanent advisor of procedural strategies for the National Economical Prosecutor since 2011, and an advisor of the Ministry of Defense of the Chile's Republic for the elaboration of the new Code of Military Justice for Chile since 2014. He is a member of the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL). Assessor of permanent research projects in Chile (Conicyt). Permanent arbitrator of Chilean legal magazines indexed in Scielo or Isi. Regular guest in master and doctoral thesis tribunals and programmes of the most important Chilean and foreign universities. Member of the academic committee of the Doctoral Programme in Law and the programme of the Master in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso (Chile). Director of the collection "Derecho y proceso" of Thomson Reuters Editorial (Chile).
