Curriculum Vitae

Mª Pía Calderón Cuadrado is a Full Professor in the Procedural Law department of the University of Valencia (Spain) holding a PhD with distinctions.

Her professional career has been mainly linked to research and teaching Civil and Criminal Procedural Law.

She has taught in several Spanish and foreign universities, in undergraduate, graduate, post graduate and PhD levels. She has also given numerous conferences in Universities and in Public and Private Institutions of Spain and abroad. And she has been a visiting professor in Universities and Research Centers of international prestige such as the New York University, Università di Bologna, University of London, Fordham University, etc. She has also participated in more than a dozen research projects at a national and at a European level and has lead two of them.

She is an expert in justiciable basic rights, methods of civil protection of the court -including the provisional and precautionary methods-, means of refutation in the criminal proceedings, and the procedural law aspects in the European area of freedom, security and justice.

She is the author of 11 monographs; 2 of them as co-author, 30 books in cooperation with other Professors (and has coordinated one of them, 40 articles in national and international specialized magazines and has written several jurisprudence remarks. She has been head of the Center for Legal Studies San Pablo-CEU, member of the Panel of Judges to evaluate the access to the judicial degree for magistrates and belongs to different expert committees of national and international magazines.
